PURPOSE:
To provide students with more detailed knowledge and skills pertaining to the role of the financial manager and the functions of the cost and management accountant.

OUTCOMES:
1.Apply advanced cost concepts in managing costs and costing systems such as cost classification, cost behaviour, cost analysis, cost estimation, cost objects and cost management accounting systems.

2.Apply advanced techniques for and report on planning, budgeting, controlling and evaluating performance, including decentralisation/divisionalisation.

3.Apply advanced concepts in long- and short-term decision-making regarding resource allocation and pricing, including transfer pricing as well as interpreting measures of uncertainty surrounding any decision-making.

costing terminology.
2. Account for Material, Inventory, and labour costs.
3. Calculate and apply manufacturing overheads and use an Activity-Based Costing (ABC) system.
4. Understand the flow of cost information.
5. Use variable and absorption costing techniques.
6. Apply Cost volume profit (CVP) analysis.
7. Understand the different approaches to budgeting and the use of standard costing.
