Using the PlagiarismCheck Tool

At NewBridge Graduate Institute, we use the PlagiarismCheck tool in MyNGI to help students and lecturers ensure that all written work maintains high academic integrity standards.

This tool helps you review your assignments before final submission and learn how to write with proper referencing.

What You Can Expect

• Automatic Scanning
  When you upload your assignment to MyNGI, CheckForPlagiarism automatically scans your work against online sources, academic journals, and other student submissions.

• Similarity Report
  The tool generates a similarity report showing what percentage of your text matches existing sources.

  • A low similarity score usually means you have paraphrased and referenced correctly.

  • A high similarity score may indicate copied text or missing references that need correction.

• Colour-Coded Matches
  Matching text is highlighted in colour so you can easily see where the similarities occur. Clicking on a match shows you the original source.

• Learning Opportunity
  You can use the report to improve your academic writing. Review the highlighted sections, adjust your paraphrasing, and ensure all ideas are properly referenced using APA 7.

• Confidential and Secure
  Your submissions and reports are kept private and are used only to support your learning and uphold academic standards at NewBridge Graduate Institute.
